Crazy computer-that's where I've been....but I'm back and I plan on using this blog every week. Midterms are just around the corner. I will be sending them home on Tuesday, Oct. 16. If your child does not get one, then they are fine. If they do get one it is to let you know how they are doing and what improvements we need to make.
BARF-great idea, but I just don't think all of us are getting the importance of this. Did you know that 50% of our students that are now in the fifth grade did not pass reading last year? We must come together as a team and get these children reading-SILENTLY!!!! That's the problem...they love to HEAR a good story but we must get them reading silently. Please join me in this endeavor.
Harry Potter book club-are you interested? This is optional and will take place during our lunch twice a week. The children will need to pack a lunch on this day because we will stay ing the room to read. What do you think? Let me know and look for a letter.
The football game was amazing!!!! Congrats to the following kids that made it to the game...Alondre, Colby, Asheligh, Marisa, Mason, Jonathan, Delaney, Kuper, and Bailey. They made their BARF goal this past 6 weeks-I LOVE YOU!!!!
Happy Fall!!!!

Interims!!!
Happy first interim!! I hope everyone survived-ha ha. It might have been painful but I'm glad I took the time to get everything in order for you. NOW what can you do to help out? Make your children accountable. Help them out and encourage them to read daily. It will all work out, I promise. Please make sure your child is reading their Reader's Theater at night. They will be writing about it the next day.
I need a few things...
#1 Water
#2 Snack
#3 Copy paper
#4 A faithful volunteer who can come once a week to file papers for me.
#5 A faithful volunteer who can come from 12:25-1:00 a day or so every week to help with centers.
Thanks for everything!!!

Spelling Update
This is how spelling works...
#1 On Monday we will go over the new words of the week.
#2 We will talk about the new prefix which this week happens to be post.
#3 We will talk about our science content words of the week and add them to our Reading/Writing Journals.
#4 Homework will always be...Monday-study with your parents not only the spelling but the definitions. Tuesday-worksheet with the prefix. Wednesday-Practice spelling test from an adult-test must be signed and all words fixed and spelled 5 times each. Thursday-TEST
#5 Please give the practice test in the form of a definition test. That's how I will do it.
#6 Parents sign notebook and planner every night for spelling. It's a small part of the homework but a BIG grade.
#7 Any questions message me please.
Spread the word...Look at the BLOG!!!! It's got a lot of info. Have a great night!

This is an oldy but goodie-enjoy!
I found this two years ago and I thought it was very good. I think we all need
to follow this "Bill of Rights" every day. Our children's future depends
on it. Check it out.
2 weeks down and 35 more to go
Well, we made it...It's been a great week but super busy!!! I'll be grading papers all weekend so you can see what kind of work your children have been doing. If there is not much in the folder, then they haven't turned in much. I will send home interims Friday, August 31 in the blue and white folders.
Washington DC...Here we come!!!!!!
